"i realise adverts.."

"what signs would.."

Dr. Robert
he's always on the case

This is quite effective in it's way. A real return to solid public information films of the kind that they used to put out in the fifties and sixties. I think they're even having a bit of an exhibition of them at the moment, but mainly concerned with the ones about having sex - always more interesting than having a stroke. Though the one can lead to the other, if you get too over excited, which is, apart from STDs the only harmful effect of having sex. In fact some research carried out in Belfast recently came to the conclusion that sex was very good for you indeed. Middle aged men who managed to persuade their partners to get it on three times a week were apparently 50% less likely to suffer heart disease.
Stokes can be a bit less obvious than a full on cardiac arrest, but if everyone had the kind of symptoms that this poor woman is showing, even the most dull witted companion might notice that all was not well. Quite apart from the fire in her forehead, which is not a symptom you should expect, she looks in pretty poor shape, and obviously should receive medical attention pretty sharpish. They do rather lay it on with a trowel, but the message of the ad is very clear and raises the issue quite forcefully. It is in some respects a very useful piece of work, and one can only wonder why this issue has not been addressed before. Maybe it has been and I missed it, but if it hasn't, and in view of the levels of stroke in this country it is long overdue, and may even save some lives.

Or a bit overdramatic?
