idea well executed. There are a lot of these nippy little cars
with funny names around these days, but most of the ads seem to end
up a bit girly. Understandable I suppose, it can seem difficult to
present a diddy little car as a serious choice for a bloke.
Ford tried it some years ago with a fantastic ad which put the car
into the Steve Mcqueen chase footage from Bullitt . I was blown away
by the ad, with the Puma charging around San Francisco, but it all
collapsed when I saw the car for real. It was the size of a bean
sprout. Now, at last, here's a properly blokeish ad that doesn't
try to hide the fact that this motor is probably on the small
side.
Car as skateboard, fantastic, it's brilliant. It says urban, it says
hip, it says small, it says manoeuverable and it says bloke. I
mean, when did you last see a bird on a skateboard? I certainly
can't remember, so blokes should be perfectly chuffed to be seen in
a Nissan qashquai. In fact I'm tempted to pop out and get one right
now. Apart from he fact that I am obviously too old and fat to
be seen in one, my only worry is how to pronounce the
name.
