Nowhere Man
but used to be big in business

What if adults all behaved like babies? That seems to be the notion behind this ad for Huggies. Well quite a lot of us do anyway and if you want to see what its like, just pop down to the Dog and Duck on Frith St any Friday night towards closing time. It's all there, crying, shouting, crawling along the floor, sitting down in the street and rolling onto your back and kicking your legs in the air. I reckon some serious nappies would indeed be very useful for people in this condition, but unfortunately that's not what's on offer here.
After some nice scenes of apparently quite sober people behaving like babies, we segue rather abruptly into a standard nappy product demonstration which tells us that Huggies are designed around the way babies move. I'm sure that this is a good idea, but I'm a bit at a loss as to what the adult babies are doing at the front end of the ad.
If I put my creative directors hat on,(In my case a rather nifty old baseball cap with USS Forrestal written on it) I'd have to say that the creatives don't seem to have got their argument right, and the two bits don't really fit together. The front half looks good and looks like it's going to make a point, but then it doesn't. It seems like they just had a lot of fun shooting people behaving like babies and then slapped the product on the end. But hey, we've all done it, and the ad may well work so who gives a shit, and I'll just take my old hat off.
