"ha ha, still.."

Nowhere Man
but used to be big in business

I happened to be watching this ad the other night with my old mate Dealer Dave, a long established purveyor of high quality narcotics to the aristocracy, the gentry and the media. He had dropped by, I hasten to add on a purely social call, and we were partaking of nothing stronger than a couple of bottles of Brazilian lager.
Some people treat their bodies like a temple, Dave treats his like a car park. Dave not only knows more or less all there is to know about drugs, but has taken pretty much all of them, often simultaneously at one time or another in a long and distinguished career of substance abuse. Indeed it is a source of mystery as to how he has survived at all, but in fact, and annoyingly for the goody goodys, he looks pretty chipper.
He was extremely impressed by the Trident ad. "Fuck me mate' he rasped after seeing it, " I know that feeling, when you're so off your face, you're leaning against a wall and you think you're on the floor. You try and get up and then you do fall on the floor. Broke my fucking wrist once. If this Trident stuff really delivered like that I could shift tons of it."
I reckon he's right, but of course, this is just a chewing gum with a soft centre. The creative team have pulled out all the stops in order to demonstrate the `in mouth characteristics' of Trident Soft, and most mind bending they are. Dave is convinced that the people who dreamt this up must be serious players. However, he doesn't get to take in much TV, what with his punishing schedule, and I had to point out that this was a fairly standard technique, used on a wide variety of products from chocolates to mobile phones.
