Mr Mustard
he's so mean

I have to say that I am more than usually pissed off at present. A fellow blogger has said that I should get a fukin (sic) life. Does he not understand that the reason I am normally so pissed off is that I have too much of a fucking life already? I want less of a life, I want to be left alone, to part company with the modern world and all it's hideous and pointless complications. But, in truth I cannot, I am constantly affronted on a daily basis, with incontrovertible evidence of it's idiocy, incompetence and moral bankruptcy.
This ad for Npower is a good example. It's well made, elegantly put together, intelligent people have put their shoulder to the wheel, but it's completely barmy. The idea that the world would be turned upside down by higher mortgage rates and higher power bills is completely nonsensical. If your mortgage rate and your power bill actually went down then you might be able to claim that the world had gone topsy turvy. But the fact is everything goes up in price, all the time, it's like night follows day, and the idea that a price rise is turning the world upside down is just wrong.
Rising prices, particularly those of power or energy are very much the norm and any attempts to suggest otherwise are pretty unbelievable. Even the premise of the ad seems to suggest, against it's own logic, that rising prices are a normal part of life. Why else would they offer a freeze on prices, for God's sake, if price rises were so rare. Apart from the fact that I don't believe it, I think the ad is a complete nonsense, and it's a shame that it's been so well made. It should have been shoddily done and cheaply put together, and then we would have known exactly where we stood.
