I haven't been to California, in fact I haven't been to America at all, but Val who I do my focus groups with on Thursdays has been to Miami at least twice, and she is always going on about how she knows all about things in America. She says that this ad is for Americans and may not be shown in England. Well it hasn't been through our focus group, but it certainly did make me think about going to California for my holidays. It reminds you that all those film stars are all hanging about out there, but then it doesn't say how much it's going to cost you. I would think that it might be quite expensive to go to California for your holidays and I reckon that you wouldn't actually get to see any of the celebrities that appear in the ad, even after spending all that money to get there.
Also, Val says that all the film stars would have just been forced to appear in the ad by Arnold Shwarzenegger who she says is now the governor and in charge of the place. He knows them all, what with being a film star himself and he would have just told them to appear in the ad or he would hit them with extra community charges or whatever they have out there. Of course they all look like they really mean what they say, but then they are all actors so how would you know?
Arnold Shwarzengger even appears in it himself, looking all smiley and welcoming and saying how much he'd love to see you out there. Well if he's the governor, he would say that wouldn't he? It's just more money in his pocket isn't it? Of course being an actor, it all looks like he means it, but now I come to think of it, I bet if you turned up at the Shwarzeneggers for a cup of tea you'ld be given the brush-off pretty quickly. Quite frankly I think I'm going to stick to Portugal this year.
