I got into a muddle with this one. I thought it was for the TSB, you know, the animated ads with all those funny people with long noses on the train. I really like them, so when I saw the same sort of people with long noses in this ad I thought it was going to be a Christmas one for the TSB. But then I realised that they weren't playing that nice music that they have, and there wasn't a train, and then they said it was for Hill Samuels who are jewellers. But I still thought that maybe it was a joint promotion sort of thing, get your Christmas presents at Hill Samuels and pay for them with your TSB card. You could even get a discount, that would be a good idea wouldn't it?.
But there was no mention of the TSB at all in the advert. So obviously Hill Samuels have just used the same funny people for their ad. I'm sure that they are very popular but I don't know if it's a very good idea.
I mean people might think the ad was for the TSB, wouldn't they? If they weren't paying proper attention they might think that the TSB was selling jewellery, you know, something special for Christmas. And then they'd be quite upset when they went down to their local TSB and found that they didn't have any jewellery at all. In fact, if I was the TSB I'd be a bit fed up with Hill Samuels using my people to sell their jewellery.
