Nowhere Man
but used to be big in business

Ok I like this ad, lets get that out of the way. I think it's fucking fantastic. Dead simple idea, done to the absolute max. Thousands of men and women lined up like Cavaliers and Roundheads, and firing off barrages of suitable weapons, handbags and little poodles from the ladies, and footballs and radio controlled cars from the blokes.

It's got all the great little cliché battle shots, like the weeping bloke who's had his glasses shattered by a mascara brush after a barrage of handbags has almost broken the men's line.

The reference to Zulu as the ranks of blokes fire off their footballs, in perfect synchronised fashion.
It's full of clever touches, like the triumphant yelling woman who kicks off hostilities in true Mad Max style, second time you view it, you see she's breaking the TV remote with her bare hands.

Then of course you've got Frankie goes to Hollywood with Two Tribes, banging away in the background. The whole thing looks like a million dollars, and I'm sure it cost at least that, but it's bloody well worth it.

Peace breaks out in the end, apparently because the Mail on Sunday has a supplement for both sexes. Personally I have always thought it was a bit of a girly paper, but maybe I'm a bit out of date, I normally am.

Or is it overblown hogwash?
